ASCVD risk with elevated Lp(a) continues into very old age

Cardiovascular risk associated with high Lp(a) persists into very old age, and patients aged 70 to 100 years with elevated levels may gain the greatest absolute benefit from preventive therapies, conclude Professor Børge Nordestgaard and colleagues, from results of an analysis of more than 100,000 people from the Copenhagen General Population Study, 18,322 (18%) of whom were aged 70 to 100 years.
