Calvin Yeang is a Preventive Cardiologist and physician scientist with strong clinical and research interest in Lp(a). He completed his medical and PhD training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by general Internal Medicine and clinical and research fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine at UC San Diego. Dr. Yeang enjoys educating his patients, medical students, residents, and fellows on cardiovascular disease prevention and Lp(a) at UC San Diego. His research laboratory is focused on understanding the mechanisms by which Lp(a) mediates atherosclerotic and calcific aortic valve disease as well as the heterogeneity in clinical manifestation of disease amongst individuals with elevated Lp(a).
