Marianne Benn, MD, DMSc, PhD, is chief physician and associate professor specializing in cardio metabolic diseases. She received her medical education, MD, and PhD (Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy) at the University of Aarhus, Doctor of Medical Sciences (Apolipoprotein B levels, APOB alleles, and risk of ischemic cardiovascular disease in the general population) at University of Copenhagen, and is a specialist in clinical biochemistry. Her research interests are lipid disorders, obesity, diabetes, and macro- and microvascular disease with focus on examining causal factors for disease using genetic epidemiology. Marianne Benn is actively involved in undergraduate medical teaching, supervises students and a postdoctoral fellow.
